Horsedrawn wagon Rides

Snowball hosts a bevy of winter activities such as a pancake breakfast, skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, Snow snake games (you have to attend to find out what they are!), hockey shoot-out, kids vs adult hockey game, Hockey Night in Dorset and more! Click on the Schedule of Events to get all the details. People come in the Rec Centre to warm up and to see the excellent entertainment in the main hall in the Rec Centre between 8am and 3pm. Local groups will be selling draw tickets and hosting a silent auction while the entertainment happens.

Knox United Church and St. Mary Magdalene's Anglican Church provide coffee, tea, hot chocolate and sweets in the Rec Centre. People can come in, have a seat, warm up and have a wonderful homemade treat. Check out the live entertainment in the Snowball Cafe.

The Lifeliners, a volunteer group of local women who do catering to donate all their proceeds back to the community provide a hot lunch. Anyone who has sampled this home cooking knows to order in advance as they always sell out.

Snowboarding
Snowboarding was once a popular event at Snowball. The hill has since been taken over by sleds and toboggans. Sorry guys . . .

Lennard Locke - Trapper Stew
In years past, The Dorset and Dwight Trapping Association provided a fascinating display with samples of snowshoes, equipment, different types of furs and best of all, their world famous Trapper's Stew.

Emes Maple Syrup Display
In years past, the Emes Family of Emes Hill, Dorset provided a wonderful example of a typical maple syrup shack and offered free samples of maple syrup taffy on snow. This year we welcome The Lake of Bays Maple Company from right here in Dorset!

The Dorset Outdoor Skating Rink is open all day long (weather permitting) and people are welcome to come for a skate, listen to music, and enjoy the winter wonderland surrounding our beautiful rink.
